Geography
Kenya is located in the eastern seaboard of African coastline bordered to Ethiopia in the north, Sudan in the Northwest, Uganda in the West and Tanzania in the south. And above all to the East with the Indian Ocean. Kenya covers an area bigger than Thailand about 582,646 square kilometres with Thailand estimated at 513,118 square kilometers.
The famous Rift valley runs through the country from north to south.
Think of Kenya in 4 regions the North is mostly deserts this includes areas around Turkana and Laikipia.
The Southern is the Savannah covering areas of Masaai Mara and Rift Valley.
The third is the Coastal areas of Mombasa, Lamu and Malindi.
The 4th region is the highlands covering Nairobi, the Aberdares and Mount Kenya region.
And do not forget the lowest point is the Indian Ocean 0 m and the highest point is Mount Kenya at 5,199 m
Population
According to the 2006 estimates the current population figure stands at 34.7 million
with a density of 59.5 per sq km.
The capital Nairobi is estimated to have a population of about 2.5 million.
English is the official language and Swahili is the national language.
Kenya is a secular state with about 75% christians, muslim about 7% and others 18%
